Who it's for

The right engineer for human-scale projects

Commercial, light industrial and heavy residential. Mandates too specialized for an electrician and too small for a large firm — that is exactly where I come in.

Contractors

You need sealed drawings to get the permit, without holding up the job site.

  • Drawings and specs for permits
  • Load calculation and electrical service
  • Available for site questions

Owners and property managers

You are expanding, changing use or adding loads, and want to know if the service is big enough.

  • Service capacity verification
  • Added loads (EV chargers, heat pumps…)
  • Certificates for the city, the RBQ or an insurer

Industrial and plants

You need to protect your workers, satisfy the CNESST and avoid unplanned shutdowns.

  • Arc flash study and labelling
  • Short-circuit and coordination
  • Power system studies
Services

Electrical engineering and safety, end to end

From the first calculation to the permit application. Not sure which service you need? The 15-minute discovery call is free.

01

Engineering and consulting

The electrical design of your project, from the idea to sealed drawings, through to the permit application.

  • Sealed drawings and specs
  • Capacity and sizing
  • Power system studies
02

Protection and coordination

I set your protective devices so a local fault stays local, and quantify the worst-case scenario before it happens.

  • Short-circuit studies
  • Selective coordination
03

Electrical safety

The study that protects your workers and your business, with clear labelling compliant with CSA Z462.

  • Arc flash (CSA Z462 / IEEE 1584)
  • Panel labelling
  • PPE recommendations
04

Compliance and certificates

Written proof that your installation is compliant — for the city, the RBQ, an insurer or a buyer.

  • Code compliance assessment
  • Signed certificates

The arc flash study, explained simply

In a fraction of a second, an electrical panel can release enough energy to seriously injure the person working on it. An arc flash study measures that risk, panel by panel, and gives you concrete tools to manage it — plus a record that demonstrates due diligence to the CNESST, your insurers and your workers.

  • Short-circuit analysis and incident-energy calculation, panel by panel
  • CSA Z462 / IEEE 1584 compliant labels, ready to install
  • Full report and PPE recommendations by zone
  • Less risk and fewer unplanned shutdowns

Process

Four steps, zero surprises

The same circuit for every mandate, large or small. You always know where your file stands and what it costs.

  1. Step 01

    Discovery call

15 minutes. You describe your project in your own words; I tell you exactly what you need — and what you don't.

    Free
  2. Step 02

    Fixed-price proposal

Clear scope, realistic schedule, firm price in writing. No open-ended hourly billing.

  3. Step 03

    Execution

Site surveys where needed, calculations, drawings. You are kept informed, without jargon.

  4. Step 04

    Delivery and follow-up

Sealed documents, with a plain-language explanation of what they mean. I stay available for your questions and the permit.

About

You talk directly to the engineer who seals your drawings.

EB Génie Conseil is one person — on purpose. No intermediate project manager, no file passed from hand to hand: the person who answers your call is the one who does the calculations and applies the seal.

My path started with a vocational diploma in building electricity, before engineering. For more than 9 years I have worked in electrical control and protection, in industry and large infrastructure. Today I bring that rigour to commercial, light industrial and heavy residential projects.

The field as much as the math

Trade diploma and engineering degree: drawings designed to be built.

Standards-based studies

Protection, power system and arc flash studies per IEEE and CSA Z462, modelled in ETAP.

In plain language

Every deliverable comes with an explanation of what it means for you.

Fast, no middleman

A lean structure: shorter delays, and fixed prices that reflect it.

Frequently asked

Before you get started

Question not listed? Ask it in the quote form — you'll get a clear answer, even if the mandate doesn't go ahead.

Ask my question
Do I need drawings sealed by an engineer?
Often, yes. Depending on the size of the installation and the type of building, the city or the RBQ may require drawings signed by an engineer before issuing the permit. If you're not sure, the discovery call exists to confirm it — free of charge.
How much does a mandate cost?
Every mandate has a fixed price, in writing, that you accept before I start. For an arc flash study, the main factor is the number of panels; for drawings, it's the size of the electrical service and the scope of work.
What are the timelines?
The schedule is written into the proposal, just like the price. If your file is urgent, say so in the form: I take it into account from the quote onward.
What do I need to prepare?
Nothing complicated: the project address, the service ampacity, a few photos of the main panel and, if you have it, the existing one-line diagram. I take care of the rest.
Where do you work?
Mainly in Montreal and the surrounding area. Much of the study work (short-circuit, coordination, arc flash) can also be done remotely from your documents — write to me to confirm.
